John
Abrash is a 15 year veteran of the hospitality industry. Abrash
began his career with On Location in Palm Springs, a California based
film production company that worked with commercial, magazine and movie
productions.
Abrash relocated
to Houston in 1993 and worked with various tourism and convention events
before joining Corporate and Convention Services in 1996 as Director
of Sales.
While with CSS he
was credited with the title of top sales producer and managed special
events and transportation for groups of 10 to 10,000.
Abrash is a member
of the Texas Society of Association Executives and a past board member
of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International. He
is a member of the Meeting Professionals International and an Instructor
for Certified Meeting Professionals.
As of January 2012, David Valenti has joined Destination Houston as a Managing Partner. His career spans 22 years with Hyatt Hotels, including a tenure as General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Houston Airport (now the Double Tree Hotel). Having come up through the ranks in Rooms Division operations, he is very focused on customer service and will bring a keen understanding and compassion for the needs of our clients.
During his time in Houston, he has served on the Board of Directors of the hotel association and was part of the hotel community that helped showcase Houston during the Superbowl in 2004.
